National Health Rural Mission is an important step taken by the Central Government to provide better health care to the citizens of the country. Through this mission, better medical facilities are provided to the citizens of all the states of the country who are living in rural and remote areas.

The National Rural Health Mission was started by the Central Government in the year 2005. After which in the year 2013 this mission was implemented in rural as well as urban areas. After this the name of this mission was changed to National Health Mission.

The National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) and the National Urban Health Mission (NHUM), both of which are included under the Rashtriya Gramin Swasthya Mission, are operated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The main objective of National Health Rural Mission

The main objective of launching the National Rural Health Mission by the Central Government is to provide better and affordable health care to the citizens living in rural areas. Through this mission, better medical facilities are made available to the citizens living in rural and remote areas.

Through this mission, the government has to provide health services to the economically weaker families of the country, whose economic condition is weak, due to which better health security is not available to all of us through the National Rural Health Mission.

So that better health services can be provided to women, children and the elderly even in rural areas. And with the National Rural Health Mission, the health of all citizens living in rural areas across the country can be improved.

Major goals of Rashtriya Gramin Swasthya Mission

National Health Rural Mission Of under Selected State

Under the National Rural Health Mission, special attention will be given to those states which have weak civil health indicators. Under the National Health Rural Mission, 18 states have been selected by the government to provide health related facilities to the citizens as well as the entire country. National Rural Health Mission Did Work policies

Improvements made under Rashtriya Gramin Swasthya Mission

  • primary Health Care center Of implementation , For the work of primary health care centers by the government, making new equipments and constructing new buildings for them, making necessary medicines available for health related needs, appointing health related women workers (ANMs) if needed.
  • An amount of Rs 1000 will be provided in the bank account for rural health care by the female worker ANM. Which can be used by women workers at the time of need for treatment for the health of the people.
  • Along with the construction of the building as per the requirement for the implementation of the Primary Health Center, 24-hour health service will be available in the Primary Health Care Centers. Apart from this, 3 nurses and Ayurvedic Unani homeopathic doctor will also be appointed in these centres. So that people can get treatment on time.
  • Committees have been formed for social science and accountability at the village, district and state levels.
  • A monitoring group has been constituted to oversee the ASHA programme.
  • Several centers have also been selected to develop the capacity of Community Health Care Centers for common citizens to provide 24 hours health care.
  • Health related services will be made available to the citizens in rural areas with the help of ASHA.
