Blue Aadhaar card, also known as Bal Aadhaar card, is issued exclusively to children below the age of five years in India. Biometric details are not required in this Aadhar card. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has simplified and facilitated the application process for this Aadhaar card.

Earlier, to make this Aadhaar card, birth certificate was required, but now it is possible to make Blue Aadhaar card even without birth certificate. You can avail the facility of applying for it from home itself.

Application Process for Blue Aadhaar card

1. First of all, visit the official website of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) (www.UIDAI.gov.in)(http://www.uidai.gov.in).

2. After this click on the option of 'Aadhar Card'.

3. A new window will open where you have to fill the child's information like name, mobile number, email ID etc.

4. Review all the information filled and then submit the form.

5. After submitting the form, you have to visit the UIDAI centre.

6. Make sure to take an online appointment before visiting the UIDAI centre.

7. Select the 'Make Appointment' option for the appointment and complete the process.

Is biometric verification mandatory, (Is providing biometric information mandatory?)

Biometric information is not required while making Blue Aadhaar card for children below five years of age. According to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), parents can apply for Baal Aadhaar for their child below five years of age. For enrolment, documents like birth certificate or hospital discharge slip and children's school ID have to be submitted.

Aadhaar card is issued on the basis of demographic information of the child and facial photograph present on the Aadhaar card of their parents. However, once the child turns 15, it is mandatory for them to update their biometric information for all ten fingerprints, iris scan and facial photograph. This process is done without any charge.
