Under this scheme, after opening the account, in the first financial year, at least Rs 250 is deposited in the account opened in the name of daughters. And the total amount deposited in the entire financial year is up to Rs 1.50 lakh. You can deposit money every month or once in a year by choosing the option as per your choice. For example, let us understand that if you deposit Rs 1,11,400. So after completion of maturity period for your daughter, Rs 50 lakh will remain in the account. Under this scheme, investment has to be made for a total of 15 years.
Interest in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana
The government has fixed an interest rate of 8% on the amount deposited in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and on the basis of that they get returns.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Eligibility
- Under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, the bank account or post office account will be opened only in the name of the daughter and it can be opened by the legal guardians or by the parents only.
- When the account is opened in the name of the daughter, her age should be less than 10 years, and investment is to be made under this scheme only till 15 years.
- The daughter should not have any other account in the bank, if this happens then she will not be eligible for this scheme.
- This scheme can be availed only for two daughters of a family, but if there are twin daughters, then in such a situation the account can be opened in the name of three daughters.
