SSC CGL Selection Process 2024

Staff Selection Commission conducts SSC CGL exam every year for graduate level posts in various departments of SSC. Appointment to posts across the country can be done as per the preference given by the candidates. SSC CGL 2024 Notification will be released on June 11, 2024 on the official website ssc.gov.in and Tier 1 exam will be held in September-October 2024. SSC CGL 2023 selection process is given below:

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam

The first stage in the selection process is an objective computer based examination. SSC CGL 2023 Tier 1 will have 100 questions consisting of 25 questions from 4 different subjects namely Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English and General Awareness questions will be asked from class 6th to 10th syllabus. Candidates can follow the table given below to know the exam pattern of the first stage in the selection process.

  • There is negative marking of 0.5 marks in all sections.
  • The duration of the examination for visually impaired candidates is 80 minutes.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam

After qualifying in SSC CGL Tier 1, candidates wait for the most important stage of SSC CGL i.e. SSC CGL Tier 2, which involves the maximum marks of SSC CGL.

  • SSC CGL Tier-2 exam The exam will be conducted in 3 phases – Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3.
  • Paper-I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper-II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO). Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, and Paper III is for the candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
  • There is negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III.
