SSC CGL Merit List 2023
The SSC CGL Merit List 2023 will be published in PDF format on the commission’s regional portal. It will display only names and registration numbers.
Candidates who qualify for Tier 1 exams will be shortlisted for further selection rounds. The candidate’s scores will not be displayed in the SSC CGL Merit List.

Resolution of Tie in SSC CGL
In cases of ties between candidates at different levels (Tier I, Tier II, Tier III, and Tier IV), the selection committee will use tie-breaking criteria. Here are the rules adopted by the commission for tie resolution:
- Total marks obtained by the candidate in the Tier-II exam.
- If a tie still exists, total marks obtained in Tier-III exam will be considered.
- Further, if a tie persists, marks obtained in Tier-I exam will be taken into account.
- If the tie still remains, preference will be given to candidates with an older birthdate.
- Finally, if a tie still exists, the order of the alphabet in which the candidate’s first name appears will be considered.
These rules ensure a fair resolution in case of tied scores.

Post-Result Activities for SSC CGL
After the results are declared, shortlisted candidates will be eligible for the next round, which is a computer-based examination.
Tier III will be a descriptive paper. Candidates who pass this examination will be shortlisted for Data Entry Skill Test (DEST)/Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). An ultimate merit list will be prepared based on all four levels.
These candidates will then be called for document verification and other formalities. Appointment letters will only be issued to candidates who fulfill all eligibility conditions as per the Commission’s selection policy.
