Notification for recruitment of Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) in non-government aided Higher Secondary schools by State Selection Board, Odisha has been released on 7th March 2024, and the application form is proposed to be filled from 18th March to 18th April 2024.

Those candidates who want to be appointed to the post of Post Graduate Teacher in non-government aided Higher Secondary schools, which comes under the Administrative Control of School and Mass Education Department, Government of Odisha, will be able to submit their online application online between 18 March and 18 April 2024.

All the eligible candidates are informed that the online application form will remain active on the official website of SSB Odisha for a total of four weeks after activation. Those who are eligible for the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) post are recommended to apply in the initial stage so that they do not face any problem in filling the online form at the last moment.

SSB Odisha PGT Eligibility Criteria 2024

To apply for recruitment of PGT, an individual needs to meet certain eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age limit, which is available below.

Educational Qualification:

• A candidate needs to have a Master’s Degree in the subject they want to teach from a recognized university, with at least 50% marks.
• Alternatively, he or she has completed a six-year integrated Master’s course from a Regional College of Education recognized by NCERT.
• Additionally, a candidate must possess a B.Ed. degree recognized by NCTE. However, for certain subjects like Commerce, Education, Geology, etc., having a B.Ed. degree is not mandatory.

Age Limit:

• A candidate must be at least 21 years old, and the maximum age allowed is 38, as of January 1, 2024.
• There are exceptions for certain groups:
  • Candidates from specific groups like SC, ST, SEBC, women, or ex-servicemen can be up to 5 years older.
  • Candidates with a disability of 40% or more can be up to 10 years older.
  • Persons with disabilities from SC/ST/SEBC categories can be up to 15 years older.

SSB Odisha PGT Application Fee 2024

The application fee for the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) position in non-government aided HS schools varies based on the candidate’s category. For candidates belonging to the Unreserved and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC), the application fee is ₹500. 

However, for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) with 40% or more permanent disability, the application fee is ₹200. Aspirants will have to pay the required amount by deadline, otherwise their application won’t be accepted.
