Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana:- To increase the income of the farmers, a new scheme has been started by the Rajasthan government. Whose name is Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana (SKAY). Under this scheme, farmers can earn good money by installing solar plants on their barren and unusable land.

With an aim to promote decentralized solar power plant, the Rajasthan government has launched the Solar Energy Livelihood Scheme or “SKAY” scheme.
Under Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana, the government will take the barren/unusable land of the farmers on lease and solar power plant Will apply Rent will be given by the government on the barren unusable land of the farmers.
Which farmers can earn good money by installing solar plants on their barren and unusable land. Farmers can earn extra through this scheme.
Along with electricity for irrigation, farmers will also get an opportunity to earn money.
For which a portal (www.skyrajasthan.org.in) has been developed for the convenience of Krishi Aajeevika Yojana farmer and developer.
Interested farmers of the state can register on this portal to give their barren/useless land on lease. Developers can see the details of the land given by the farmers on the portal.

Objective of Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana
The main objective of launching Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana is to utilize the abundant land resources of the state by giving farmers an opportunity to lease/rent barren land on pre-determined amount basis for setting up solar power plant.
For which Rajasthan Discoms have developed an online portal. Farmers can register to lease their land for setting up power plants through this portal. And developers of solar power plants can also register to reach out to registered farmers.
Due to which the farmers will get benefit. And their income will increase.
The electricity produced from the solar power plant to be set up under this scheme will be available only to the people of the surrounding area and sufficient electricity will be available to them for agricultural work during the day time. The barren land of the farmers can be put to good use.
Fee for Solar Energy Plant
Under the Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana, farmers will have to pay Rs 1180 as registration fee for setting up a solar plant. Apart from this, the developer of the solar power plant will also have to deposit Rs 5,900 as registration fee.
When the fees and documents will be submitted by both the parties. Only then the application will be scrutinized and the land will be verified by the Discom. Soon a dedicated help desk will be set up at the discom level to solve the problems of farmers and developers.
Subsidy for Solar Energy Plant
Under Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana, 30% grant will be given to the developer for setting up a solar power plant through PM Kusum Yojana. The state government will also enter into a tripartite contract between the land owner, farmer, developer and the concerned discom or company to provide risk protection to both the parties.
Which will help in protection from risk, solar energy production, reduce pollution level and double the income of farmers.
Farmers got registered on SKAY portal
Farmers and developers are getting good response only after the launch of this scheme. More than 34621 people have entered this portal so far. Under Saur Krishi Urja Yojana, 7217 farmers have registered on the portal for setting up solar power plant on their barren land.
Along with this, about 753 developers of solar power plants have also registered on the portal.
Till now 14 farmers and 14 developers have deposited the prescribed fee on the portal. It was told in the review meeting that the farmers of Alwar and Jaipur districts have shown more enthusiasm in the Solar Agriculture Livelihood Scheme.
Out of which three farmers in Alwar district and 7 farmers in Jaipur district have registered their land with prescribed fees. And the land documents have also been uploaded on the portal. Discoms will soon start the process of issuing tenders for these GSS after verification of land by Discom officials.

- To get the benefits of Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana, it is mandatory for farmers and developers to register on the official website.
- Land owners, farmers, groups of farmers, registered cooperative societies, organizations, union institutions can also join the Solar Agricultural Livelihood Scheme.
- Any farmer or land owner of the state can register to give land on lease / rent of at least 1 hectare.
- The distance of registered barren unusable land should be within 5 km radius of the sub station.
- According to the rules of this scheme, the landowners or farmers will have to get a proper power of attorney done in favor of one of the nominees. Because to register on the portal the power of attorney has to be uploaded.
- Applicants have to make online payment of non-refundable registration fee to apply.
