Those soldiers or firefighters who will retire will not have to struggle in search of Jobs in future, because they will come out of the army trained and skilled. The Army has launched a new program called 'Kaushalveer' to equip its soldiers and firefighters with around 500 different types of vocational skills.

According to Army sources, the program is in line with the new educational policy and National Credit Framework (NCF) and is being developed with the assistance of the National Skill Development Council. Under this programme, the skills of the soldiers and firefighters will be linked to the National Credit Framework and they will be provided necessary training and certified as per National Skill Qualification Level 5.5. This will enable them to get higher managerial level Jobs.

According to the Kaushalveer project, about five hundred different types of skills have been identified. A soldier will be trained by choosing one of these skills. For this, help will be taken from 37 skill sector councils and 100 training institutes associated with them across the country. 17 agencies providing certification in the project and

Cooperation of 40 evaluating agencies is also being sought. Although this program is for both regular soldiers and Agniveers, Agniveers will benefit more from it as they will be younger and actively participate in the programme.

Under Kaushalveer Yojana, apart from security duties, army personnel are also engaged in other technical works. On the basis of these tasks, five hundred types of tasks have been identified. Before retirement, soldiers will be given additional training as per their qualifications. Through this training, they will be prepared as per the requirements of the industry, so that after retirement they can get immediate employment in the market.

Regarding soldiers, statistics show that every year about 62 thousand soldiers retire from the army. Apart from this, about 50 thousand Agniveer are recruited every year. The service period of 38 thousand Agniveers will end in 2026.
