SSC CGL is one of the biggest exams conducted under the Staff Selection Commission to recruit graduates in the ministries and departments of the Government of India and its subordinate offices. SSC has released the annual exam calendar, which also states that the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be held in September-October 2024. The exact dates of the exam will be announced soon. SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2024
As per the revised exam pattern, the Staff Selection Commission of India will conduct the SSC CGL 2024 exam in two stages: Tier-1 and Tier-2. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be compulsory for all candidates. For the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam, there will be papers 1, 2 and 3, while Paper I is compulsory for all posts, Paper II is for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation and Paper III is for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be conducted online consisting of 4 sections with a total of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) and maximum marks of 200. The entire exam has to be completed in a time duration of 60 minutes. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be qualifying in nature and the marks will not be counted in the final selection.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern
SSC will conduct a computer-based exam with 100 multiple-choice questions. The Tier 1 exam of SSC CGL consists of 4 sections consisting of 100 questions carrying 200 marks. The subject-wise SSC CGL exam pattern 2024 details are given below:

There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer. There is no sectional cut-off. No marks will be deducted if a question is left blank or not attempted by the candidate.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2024
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the CGL exam in three different stages: Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Paper I is compulsory for all candidates, providing a comprehensive assessment for various posts. On the other hand, Paper II is exclusive for candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) posts in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. Similarly, Paper III is specifically designed for applicants aspiring for the roles of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
Candidates must recognize the customized nature of these papers based on their application status. Additionally, candidates must also be aware of the negative marking system, wherein 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer in Paper I, and 0.50 marks are deducted for each wrong response in Paper II and Paper III.

SSC CGL Selection Process 2024
Candidates must be aware of the selection process before applying for the CGL exam. SSC CGL Recruitment 2024 will be a multi-stage process. Candidates will have to clear the Tier 1 as well as Tier 2 level exams to be eligible for document verification. The SSC CGL 2024 selection process is mentioned below:

- Tier 2 consists of 3 papers i.e. Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III in different shifts on different days.
