History of 'World Whale Day'
It started in 1980. When World Whale Day was celebrated on the island of Maui, Hawaii, in honor of the humpback whale. The main reason for this was the arrival of humpback whales on the Hawaiian coast. It is said that humpback whales always swam off the coast of Hawaii. Due to which there was a crowd of people to see the humpback whale. After this, Pacific Whale Foundation started celebrating Whale Day in honor of the humpback whale. On this day, parades and floats are taken out by the Pacific Whale Foundation. In which children and adults alike are seen dressed as whales. Along with this, many prominent personalities also participate in this program.

Whale is a mammalian creature living in the oceans. Which is called the largest creature of water. There is a hole on the front part of its head. Through which the whale breathes. Regarding size, it is said that whale is many times bigger than elephant and dinosaur. Its length is 30 meters while its weight is 180 tonnes.
