DGCA gives AOC certificate to new airline Fly-91.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation i.e. DGCA has given Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to the new regional airline Fly 91. Fly-91 told that the logo of their airline is a flying butterfly.

Fly-91 said that the airline's flying butterfly logo symbolizes the mesmerizing beauty and vibrant diversity of India. Fly-91, a regional airline headquartered in Goa.

  • An AOC is an authorization required for an operator to conduct specified commercial air transport operations.
  • It symbolizes compliance with stringent regulatory standards and demonstrates an airline's ability to ensure safety and reliability in its operations.

  • Under the supervision of the country's aviation regulator, Fly91 successfully operated flights as part of the AOC process.

Fleet expansion and home base

  • Fly-91 recently welcomed its first ATR 72-600, one of two aircraft leased from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise.
  • These aircraft will be deployed at Manohar International Airport in Mopa, Goa, making Fly91 the first Indian airline to use Goa as its home base.

Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UDAN

  • With its eye on enhancing connectivity in India's Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, Fly91 has been allotted the first set of routes under the government's Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UDAN.
  • These routes, allocated under UDAN 5.0, will connect Fly91 to cities like Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Nanded in Maharashtra and Agatti in Lakshadweep, as well as other major business and leisure destinations like Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad and Pune.
